The Story Behind the Art
I painted this on site, outside looking at the scene. Michigan Beach in Charlevoix to be precise. Plein air is French for painting in the open air. I painted this one during a paint out with the Charlevoix Circle of Arts. The light changes and you have to paint quickly. I am getting better at doing this and was late setting up because I was one of the helpers for the event at the Circle. I had planned where I was going to paint the day before. It was a beautiful fall day. Warm and sunny with a nice breeze. One of the nicest days that fall. I had a lovely time and I think you can tell by the painting. The mood shows.
