Description
This magnet measures 2 inches by 3.5 inches. The image is a reproduction of “Four Fresh Peppers”, an 8×10 acrylic on birch board. The original of this painting was inspired by the Turtle I did for the Bay Harbor Foundation fundraiser for the Northern Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund this summer. The turtle was “Fresh Produce from Lena’s Garden” and was created especially for one of the corporate sponsors, Meijer for their produce department. It had 38 different fruits and vegetables on it along with some garden critters. I really enjoyed painting the fresh produce. It was a new subject for me. I will be creating more paintings with this them. I found the shapes and colors fascinating. Finding ways to make the light and shadows create depth and trying to show the juiciness, shininess and all the different textures was very challenging. It was a wonderful experience that I want to explore again and again!
