Description
This print is a reproduction of a painting I did because I love Tulips! Especially pink ones. I have always liked “chunky” paint on paintings so I decided to tackle working with the palette knife. This painting is acrylic on canvas with the palette knife and lots of paint and is a cluster of pink parrot tulips that I had in my back garden. I say “had” because first the deer ate the blooms then the skunks got the bulbs. I did the painting from a photo. Actually it was painted with a brush and a palette knife. I have been working with a palette knife in oil so I decided to try it with acrylic. I really like the way it turned out. I had to get a really heavy bodied acrylic paint for it to get the same effect but the drying time was definitely a lot better. I have to work with the color blending a bit. Oil has a better range and depth of color but the acrylic was worth working with.
This is also available as note cards and magnets.
