Description
The Trout Pond & Clarence Odmark Pavilion – Charlevoix. This magnet measures 2 inches by 3.5 inches. The image is a reproduction of a painting “The Trout Pond & Clarence Odmark Pavilion – Charlevoix”.
The trout pond was originally in East park on the south side. When the renovated the park in 2009, they created a trout “stream” and made it look all “natural” which is cool and everything but the old trout pond was like a swimming pool for fish. The kids could come up and see the fish clearly… and up close. Probably scarier for the fish too. The Odmark Pavilion (which is now rebuilt and referred to as an amphitheater) was built in the style of the Earl Young “Mushroom Houses”… it fit Charlevoix. Yes, the new one is acoustically better and seats more and has better lights… but it doesn’t have “character”. This painting is a study for a scene I did on “Charle-fish” for the Great Northern Fish-In sponsored by the North West Michigan Red Cross as a fundraiser. It is acrylic on fiberglass.
