  • The Charlevoix, Michigan drawbridge is a double-leaf bascule bridge located in downtown Charlevoix, that carries U.S. Route 31 across Island Lake Outlet today, also known as the Pine River Channel.
  • The existing bridge is the sixth bridge to cross the channel. The first being a pedestrian-only structure that was built in the nineteenth century followed by a succession of swing bridges turning with keys progressing to the Bascule bridge of today.
  • The drawbridge is an iconic part of downtown Charlevoix. The drawbridge will open on the hour and half-hour for larger watercraft. Watching the drawbridge go up and down is a highlight for visitors.
