The Story Behind the Art
This image is a reproduction of “The Parkside Restaurant of Charlevoix”. It is a large acrylic on metal painting that is actually a commissioned sailboat sculpture located on the grounds of Charlevoix’s Historic Railroad Depot Museum. I was commissioned to restore and redesign a sailboat sculpture project that was put on by the Northern Michigan Red Cross. The original sailboat, created by another artist in the mid-2000s was in a bad state of disrepair. Professional courtesy called for permission from the previous artist to redesign it then “Sailing Through Time” was in the works. It has sixteen scenes of old-time Charlevoix featured on it, preserving memories of Charlevoix’s past through an artist’s eyes. I made the Parkside Restaurant of Charlevoix Prints so you could enjoy the memory and take it with you!
The Parkside Restaurant of Charlevoix is part of the Pure Charlevoix Collection.
Dimensions: This print is available as a 5×7, 8×10 and 11×114.
All paintings are photographed in natural light to bring out the texture and true color of the painting. I try my best to match the colors in the photo to the artwork but slight differences may occur in color due to differences in monitor screens, and lighting conditions under which the artwork is viewed.
